Friday night I picked up a rotisserie chicken meal from Bartlett Farm. I knew that a, I didn't want to cook and b, I needed chicken stock as the freezer was empty. It was a jerk chicken seasoning so we will see how that fares. I typically use chicken stock to flavor rice, soups and to braise anything. We like spice so I don't think it'll be an issue. Then Saturday night, I was inspired to produce some celery salt with the baby celery we had received in our CSA this week. I browned too many leaves though and only produced about an eighth of my intention. Oh well, next time I'll have a gentler hand and better intention. My next to last production of the day(dinner was my last with grilled flank steak, garlic sweet potatoes, zucchini, and Bartlett Farm corn) was... wait for it... epitomy of summer cocktailing... cucumber infused vodka. One medium(farm medium rather than commercial medium) cucumber and your choice of label vodka(I had some Smirnoff leftover from a function) in a non-reactive container for 3 days, shaken once a day and stored in a dark spot. Yum, now the search for the perfect cocktail mixture. I'm thinking it'll depend on what herbs we get in the CSA on Wednesday but I do have some basil on hand. Till then, Cheers!

Weekend Activities
I love weekends. Working for the weekend? That's me. I love to tinker around and start projects, get half way through, get distracted and move on. Come back and hopefully finish before we sit on the couch. I repotted my tomatoes as they were pushing some fruit out but were still in their original plastic container from the nursery. Sad tomatoes now seem happier. Sunday was my favorite this weekend. We started with a pancake blueberry pancake breakfast. Only healthier because instead of greasy yummy bacon, I spiked our coffee with vanilla protein powder. I still need to look and see what its base is. But I keep forgetting. See a pattern forming? I did however indulge in some Cherry Blueberry honey for topping the pancakes.

Jewel Trail
What a way to celebrate the last day of my twenties. It was perfect weather and some of my closest friends and favorite people peakbagged Monroe and Washington with me to celebrate the occasion. One of the best parts of the day to add to that amazing experience was the arrival of two more of my close friends and favorite people at the campsite. It certainly was the right way to bring in my thirties. Thirty. Still sounds strange.

New Years Day Walk
Day light is precious right now and I love to take big Steve out as much as possible. He's missing it so much that he just sat down in the middle of our morning walk today to play with his stick. Poor guy. All of us really, off leash walks seem to be such a high point in all of our day.

Nantucket Nature Favorites!
There are some of my favorite Nantucket shots that I've gotten over the course of 2011. My landlord has a small area in the backyard with a greenhouse and her future plantings which makes for some great flower shots. The other two were captured on walks with Steve.
